The Fourth of July is upon on a Tuesday this year, right up there in the week so anyone planning an extensive vacation with a job is going to have some problems.
Anyone trying to get away from their job fill wind a ‘peak factor’ in air wages or any type of transportation. Hotels too will often hike up their prices, especially in New York and Las Vegas, where celebrations are at their peak.
Celebrating the country’s independence doesn’t really necessarily require you spend a fortune for a getaway at a luxury dig in some far away location on the beach. No! A real independence day is the best when celebrated the old fashioned way, by having a barbeque with friends and family and by keeping things easy on the wallet.
If you’re looking to keep things light on the wallet yet still change it up, here are a few things you can get up to with friends, family and neighbors on the 4th of July!
· Play Ball!
Arrange a little get together with the neighborhood at the local field for a game of softball. Assign two teams of red and blue, and have people dress appropriately. You can grab a few cheap t-shirts from Target. A cooler with your favorite drinks and a grill at the side with fireworks at the end would be the most wholesome 4th of July you could spend!
· Block Party!
If you want to stick to the barbeque routine but want to make it a little special, why not arrange a full on party with your entire family and neighborhood? Everyone participating can contribute with some sort of food or drink or arrangement. Keeps things to hot dogs, beers and burgers though! Decorations should be a fun time to arrange for the kids and everyone can pitch in for the fireworks at the end.
·Spend the Day Shopping
4th of July sales are awesome, retailers offer some surprisingly good deals and anyone who dreads Black Friday sales will find the Independence day Sales aren’t too bad themselves! If you aren’t one to go out in malls to combat other potential shoppers, deals online will fulfill your palette, and websites will often have entire dedicated pages for Independence Day sales. We hear XNSPY might have something special too!
· Free Fireworks Show
Public fireworks shows are always available and what it would be nice for you to save the money on fireworks by simply attending s public show! No more dogs going crazy or some half hearted attempts at making fireworks work, let some professionals take care of it and sit back and relax with a nice cold one with the boys or family!
Take your sweetheart or your family to a local park or to a lake to the top of the mountain and have yourselves a good old picnic. Finger food and coleslaw and some pigs in a blanket will be light yet and effective way to celebrate some 4th of July grubbin’. Some board games will keep the fun alive and the view, where ever you are, will be gorgeous!
