Facebook Using Your Likes to Target Ads and Track Browsing Habits

Here is something that we here at XNSPY have been warning you about, probably from the very get go: Facebook tracks your likes and browsing history to target you with ads. In the past, we have talked to you about managing your child’s online reputation because everything on the internet leaves a digital footprint. And we also discussed in detail how even deleted content is saved in social media servers all around the world, so the stuff you want gone is still out there in one form or the other. Now, you know for sure that your browser history is closely monitored by what you like on Facebook. Because this social network’s gurus are selling all this information to marketing companies that want to target you with ads. How Likes Lead to Targeting Facebook ad targeting uses algorithms that use data from a user’s like and share buttons. These buttons are placed all over the webpage as well as the Facebook mobile app. The buttons have a bit of code that make your browser deliver information to Facebook’s servers. This way, they have made a new and improved way of filtering relevant data that can be used for a more efficient ad targeting. So, any website you visit after that will be recorded, and next time you visit the social network, you will see ads that are relevant to your interests and browsing habits. It’s not just people they are networking—they have now created an entire advertisement network. By extension, this targeting system will be used on other services that Facebook has acquired including WhatsApp and Instagram. You’re Always Being Tracked People were always sure that data saved from all their activates on Facebook is used by marketing companies and other agencies. However, it is a little unsettling to know that you will continue to be tracked by Facebook even when you’re not on Facebook. Nevertheless, the Stephen Deadman of the company hopes that by using social media widgets on different websites, along with the Like and Share buttons, people will be able to get more relevant ads for an overall better experience. Monitoring in Your Hands At XNSPY, we empower parents and employers by putting monitoring in their own hands. Keeping track of your company’s online activity is important not only in keeping its online presence, but also to protect its data. Imagine having important strategic plans infringed because your browser is tracked. Similarly, our parental control app lets parents watch over what their kids share online and take the necessary steps to avoid potential disaster. This just goes to show that a couple of lines of code is all it takes for you to be tracked by a third party, whether you like it or not. Take control of monitoring and you’d be able to protect the people you’re responsible for. The data being shared with third parties is sensitive. While you may not be able to stop it from being transmitted to other companies altogether, you can control the kind of data they are going to get. See Also: How can i spy on Facebook Messenger?

How Bosses Can Manage the Subordinate’s Need for Self-Preservation

The dynamic of a boss and subordinate is such that the latter always seems to hold within them an undeniable need for self-preservation. Any form of communication from the boss’s side is seen as an interrogation. That’s when the yearning for self-protection sets in, even if the situation need not call for it. The boss’s job then becomes to manage in ways that eliminate that sort of behavior. Here are a few actionable suggestions managers can use: Self-Awareness First and foremost, the boss needs to have a great degree of self-awareness.  They need to observe what sorts of behavior incur self-preservative behavior within their employees, then stay away from them. Is it something you do that makes them explain themselves? Is it your tone? Is it the way you phrase your questions during your interactions. Addressing the Elephant in the Room The second step is to address this issue head on. A good way to talk about the subject of self-preservation is during training sessions. Discuss the different forms of self- preserving behaviors and explain why they are harmful to productivity and the overall organizational culture. At the same time, try and find out what sort of speaking tone, question phrasing and general behavior they expect from you. The communication has got to be two-way. Empathy Another great way of dealing with a subordinate who resolves to self-preservation is to empathize with them. Let them know what you do in a particular situation with your superiors. For example, if you’re the department head, let them know how you would approach a predicament (that you’re currently facing) with the CEO of the company.  Conflicts can be learning opportunities. Seeking Resolution Train yourself to a resolution seeking behavior. This means that you encourage conversation amongst your employees. Not only that, but once a problem has been identified, you address it head on and take the time to find a resolution. This strategy is something that Toyota Motors has been practicing for years, and part of what has made them so successful. The principle of stopping to fix a problem is actually a clause in the Toyota Way. Once the problem has been resolved, schedule follow-ups so that they do not surface again. Realize the Unattainable At the end of it, realize that a boss-superior is never without problems. Both of you are working toward something that is seemingly unattainable. As the manager, your job is to find a comfortable rhythm and an effective way to deal with conflict. Empower your employees so that they do not feel the need for self-protection more often than they need to. But also know that such behavior is to be expected because you’re the one in a position of power. Recall all the times that you were in the similar situation and relate it to them. Think of all the ways you wish things would have been better with your boss and implement them instead of treating them with the same misdemeanor that your boss offered you. That’s the only way to manage the subordinate’s need for self-preservation.

Employee Monitoring

Managing the Employee You Don’t Get Along With

Let’s get real here. There will always be that one person at the office that doesn’t really like you. It’s natural. That much is to be expected. If you’ve managed to keep everyone happy at the same time, you’re probably doing your job as a manager wrong. But this one person we’re talking about doesn’t like you at all. They don’t respect you, and they can really disrupt the entire system you’ve built for your team. So how do you manage an employee that hates your guts? Why Personal Vendettas are Harmful Having vendettas at the office is not unusual. Employees face off all the time because they’re working toward the same things in close quarters and competition settles in. However, we’re talking about that one employee that does not respect you as a manager. The thing is, because they don’t recognize your authority, they’re going to make teamwork very difficult. They might not be up for the tasks you give them and they may not be interested in using the work methods you’ve set for the rest of the team. And then there’s the bashing. They’re probably always talking ill of you with other employees which just brings the overall work atmosphere down. We’ve said this before, negativity spreads like poison. So their personal vendetta against you is harmful to everyone around them. Kill ‘Em With Professionalism The best thing you can do in a situation like this is to maintain professionalism no matter what their attitude. Never raise your voice or let your face show frustration (even though your brain may be boiling). Maintain a cool and professional exterior and never let it crack. Address the issue in a similar manner and give them a chance to put their ideas on the table. Try to work them out in an amicable way and encourage them to move forward with them. If their bad behavior with you persists, it may be time for you to take disciplinary action. Here is a great infographic by Business Wire that explains how rivalry can bad affect employees at work: Give Them Space As a manager, you should be able to trust that your employees will do their jobs—including your Frowning Fred. Therefore, avoid interfering in their work throughout the day. Over the shoulder management can get rather annoying, and it is only going to make them feel worse about you. Maybe set weekly goals for them? That way, they can work at their own pace and deliver because they know they have a deadline. Appreciate them when they do something right and empower them by telling them they are valuable to the company. Keep a distant eye on them using employee monitoring software. Talk it Out The more plainly obvious solution here is to talk it out. Find out why you have bad blood by giving them a chance to explain why they are behaving with you the way they are. Explain to them why their attitude is problematic to you. Give examples of all the times their behavior was destructive to teamwork and your position as a manager. Encourage mutual respect. However, maintain a line that musn’t be crossed. Make it painstakingly clear that you are the manager and it is your job to get things done in your team, all personal grudges set aside. If you’ve tried all these methods to no avail, you need to take that disciplinary action we talked about. If they aren’t going to change their attitude with you, maybe you need to replace them with a better team player.

Why I Invested in a WhatsApp Spy App—an XNSPY Mother’s Tale

An XNSPY mother talks about how using the app helped her reconnect with technology and her daughter. She proves that you’re never too old to keep on learning! When I finally decided to buy my then 12-year-old daughter Ellie her cell phone, I made sure I got parental control with it. It’s not that I didn’t trust her. It is just that I wanted to watch how she used her privilege like a hawk. I’ve been the same way with most parenting milestones. I kept an eye on her when I bought her her first bicycle to see she didn’t ride too far off the road. I walked her to her ballet class till I was absolutely sure she knew her way back home. Why would me buying her a cell phone be any different? Besides, all the parental control did at the time was let me look at her text messages and call log. My Eureka Moment in Smartphone Monitoring Fast forward 4 years and enter the smartphone age. Now my daughter has one of those phones that come with countless apps and widgets. I’m going to be honest with you, I’m not exactly up to date on all these new tech whizzes and discoveries. My husband thinks I’ve lost touch. But whatever it was, I didn’t realize that teenagers these days don’t really text as much. They use WhatsApp to do all the talking. When her text messages were coming up short, I started to worry for a bit. I thought she was going through one of those moody teenage phases where she doesn’t have a lot of friends and doesn’t talk to anyone. Little did I know that her thumbs were tapping away on a different window to her SMS one. That’s when I knew I just had to look into getting a WhatsApp spy app. Finding Out More About WhatsApp I did a little research and found that apparently, people are using WhatsApp way more than SMS now. What blew my mind was the fact that WhatsApp sends over 30 billion messages a day. 30 billion! So of course Ellie would have been in with this trend. Kids are ahead of their parents in technology trends anyway. So I knew right away that simply reading her text messages won’t give me the full picture of her phone communication. I had to read her WhatsApp as well. XNSPY Became My New Monitor The next thing I had to look up right away was a suitable parental control that would let me do this. That’s how I found XNSPY. Being as technologically unaware as I am, using XNSPY confused me for a bit. They’ve got monitoring for lots more apps that kids use. This includes Kik, Skype, Viber, Facebook and many more. They even had traditional SMS monitoring. But they also had the following WhatsApp functions: Chat viewing Group chat viewing Media files viewing Time and date stamps of messages Alerts on Watchlist words or contacts It was fairly easy to use and it actually helped me get back into being on top of things. I may not be as in touch with technology as my daughter, but I’m learning. The app sure has helped. As has coming on here and reading this blog. So I hope my little contribution will help other parents that read this blog, too. Have a story you want to share? Write to us or leave a comment below!

Secret Apps

Kids are Using ‘Secret’ Apps to Hide Things—Parental Spy Software Can Help

In a recent development, children have found a clever way to avert their parent’s eyes from their most suspicious activities. There are now using secret apps to hide files from parents. This means they can use it to conceal things like selfies, videos, text messages and other files. So how do parents look after the digital wellbeing of their kids properly when half the problematic stuff is hidden from them?  As always, we have a fantastic solution. How Do These Secret Apps Work? But first, let’s talk about how these infamous secret apps work in the first place. Basically, what they do is put any photo, video, message, or any other file that the child would want to hide protected under a passcode. But here’s where it gets even sneakier: the app itself acts as a calculator or clock or a calendar (basically apps you won’t think to check on your child’s phone). The kids have to enter the passcode on there to access their ‘hidden’ stuff. It’s actually genius if you think about it. It’s like a safe locker within their phones. Or a virtual Room of Requirement. But the fact is, kids are going to try to hide their mischief under there, which can sometimes come back to harm them. They could be hiding things like nude selfies, adult content, or suspicious text messages. Otherwise they won’t really have a reason to hide away, would they? The Mobile Spy App to Rival their Secret Apps Here’s how you beat your kids at their own game: you use a secret app to rival theirs. Except this secret app is designed especially for parents. And it works just as sneakily as theirs. XNSPY installs onto their devices seamlessly, then hides itself from view. After that, it works discreetly in the background of their phones so they have no way of finding out that it’s there. Your parental spy software will record everything that goes on on their devices. From text messages, to WhatsApp chat. From sound recordings to downloaded music. It lets you monitor every aspect of their digital identities. Which is quite a power trip if you ask me. But you’re the parent, and that is exactly the kind of control you are going to need if you wish your kids to have responsible digital upbringing. Read More: Everything You Need to Know About WhatsApp Spying on Android The Dashboard Has it All! So, how is it going to help you combat the secret app your kids use? Three words: XNSPY Control Panel. Remember how we told you that XNSPY records every single thing that is on your child’s phone? Well, everything that is captured is uploaded onto this Control Panel. Anytime your kid sends or receives a message, a copy of it is saved onto it. Anytime your child takes a picture, you get to keep the file with you. No matter where on the phone they hide and store it. At the kid’s end, XNSPY is a mobile app that is hidden on their phones. At the parent’s end, XNSPY is a Dashboard that they can access on any device as long as they have a login in. It is where all the data from the child’s phone is saved. (www.genusinnovation.com) It is where nothing averts your eyes. So there we go. I told you we had a great solution. If you want to learn more about how the parental spy app works, click on the link. How to Keep the Family Together on What Will Be the Busiest Labor Day in 8 Years

Let’s drop the bomb on you right away—if you or anyone in the family is planning one final getaway for the summer, you’re not alone. Labor Day Weekend 2015 is predicted to be the busiest one there has been since 2008. Which means traffic will be insane. There will be more people (more cars, really) out there on the road then there have been all year. So that road trip you’ve been planning? A lot of it could be spent stuck in traffic. Amongst all this mess, it is only natural that you’d be worried about your family when they are out. Labor Day Weekends are typically spent by students as a one last hurrah before getting back to schools/colleges. It goes without saying that a lot of people on the roads are going to be the younglings. This is bound to make parents rather worried if this year’s numbers are true. So how do you keep the family together in which is expected to be the worst traffic in nearly 8 years? Three words. Mobile spy app. Using Location Tracker to Keep Up The first thing you ought to do right away before you or your kids head out on your road trips is install mobile spy software in all your devices. Your software will have a location tracker on it. So once your kid or your loved one is out on the road, you will be able to look at their current GPS location at any point in time. This means you can check in on them and be assured of where they are. Discuss where your kids will be heading to and what routes they will be using. Then use your cell phone spy to keep an eye on those routes and see exactly where they are. How would you know if your kids are actually going to where they say they’ll go? It is through… Setting Geo-Fences …setting geo-fences of course. Geo-fencing allows you to put virtual fences around certain locations. Place a fence around their route. Now any time they deviate and decide to head off somewhere else or somewhere they are not supposed to be, you will be notified right away. How? You monitoring software will send you an alert anytime there is activity related to ‘Watchlist Location’… or the locations that you just placed fences around. Going Through Location History Here’s a more laid back approach to making sure your family has been safe through the traffic on Labor Day. If you don’t want real time reports on their GPS location, you can always look at their location history to find out where they’ve been. You can do this in time intervals you’re comfortable with. That way, you can have your fair share of fun during the Labor Day Weekend, and be responsible at the same time. Encouraging Safer Celebrations! Making sure the family is connected through a mobile spy app will only encourage you to look after each other’s safety. This way, you’ll be encouraging safer celebration using digital means. If you’re coordinated enough, you can make it through this awful traffic and have a great last summer getaway. So make sure you’re celebrating responsibly. Happy Labor Day Weekend, everyone!

5 Tips for Becoming a Straight ‘A’ Student for the New School Year

Well, kids, it is back to school season. Earlier, we talked to parents about how they can prepare for getting back into routine with their kids. But now let’s talk business. You can’t let this school year be like all the ones before. You’ve got to make this one count. You need to go to back to school with a vigor and determination unlike any you’ve had before. The first thing you’ve got to reset for this school year is the way you study. We’ve been speaking to straight ‘A’ students all through summer, asking them about how they study to keep their grades on track. We found 5 tips that are not only useful, but very easily applicable. Make use of them, and you’ll find your report card soaring. Never Skip a Class The truth of the matter is, all straight ‘A’ students are punctual. They show up and never miss a class. They listen to all the lectures and make all the notes that will help them in tests and finals. That’s half their battle done. Do take a leaf out of their book and never skip a class if you can help it. Set goals for yourself— I won’t miss more than 2 classes per month I won’t miss more than 5 classes per semester I will attend 2 full weeks of classes before considering taking a day off If you do happen to miss a class for whatever reason, turn to someone that makes notes in class and ask them to help you out. Remember, some lectures are more important than others (they end up featured in finals way more), and you can’t miss out on them. Never Skip an Assignment Here’s another easy but applicable tip: do every assignment you get. Even the ones that seems too silly to do. Even the one that you find too hard to do so you end up copying off of your friend. If you complete every assignment, you are basically studying side by side with your classes. You’re mastering every topic as it is taught without waiting for it to pile up right before your exams. This is a very important tip because Every assignment adds to your grade; these are basically easy bonus points! Content from assignments or a variation of them usually appears in exams A single completed assignment can turn your grade from a B+ to an A. So missing out on what is essentially class work seems like a foolish thing to do. Make Lots of Planners Planning ahead is so important. Make lots of agendas to keep your day, week and semester scheduled. List down everything you have to get done onto a calendar to keep track of your progress. Decide how much of your time in the day you need to spend on completing assignments, revising, reading and relaxing. Then stick to the planner. It won’t be of any use to you if you end up going freestyle anyway. It is however important for you to have an agenda that is flexible enough for you to have some time off every once in a while without being derailed. Revise Smart, Not Hard Another really useful tip from good students: show up to class earlier and revise in that quiet time. Go through all the notes you’ve made in the previous lectures and take part in the class recap discussions. Do this often and you’ll find that by exam time, you already know the things you’re meant to study for. You won’t have to cram… you’ll have proper knowledge because you’ve given yourself time to internalize them properly. Don’t Be a Backbencher Try and sit as close to the front as you can. Don’t try to be that cool kid who would rather sit at the back of the class than really attempt to be a good student. You will be able to listen to lecture better, you’ll be free from distractions, and with the focus of your teacher so close to you, you’ll be forced to actually listen. These tips are going to help you study better in your new school year. But do keep in mind that if you’re not getting the grades you’re working for, it maybe because of other factors. Check out our blog on why sometimes smart kids don’t get good grades. It is important that you don’t take a bad grade as demotivation. Let it be the force that drives you to work harder.

Smart Kids Get Bad Grades

4 Reasons Smart Kids Get Bad Grades

Isn’t it frustrating when your kid is bright and energetic and smart as they come, but none of it translates onto the report card? Well, you’re not alone in this dilemma. So many parents I talk to tell me about how their kids are great at communicating, know all their facts and tidbits, love doing their fair bit of curious research; yet somehow, their grades at school don’t back any of their talent. So, before we go into discussing this in more detail, I want you to get one thing straight. Just because your child isn’t doing well at school, doesn’t mean they are unintelligent. There are lots of other factors that contribute to that report card. Let’s go through each one. The Teacher Disconnect Sometimes, kids don’t hit it off right away with the teacher. Doesn’t necessarily mean that the teacher is bad at what he/she does. It might just mean that your kid doesn’t have the right connection with them. They might not understand their method of instruction. Or they might find them too strict. Remember, the subject is closely associated with the teacher. I mean, I too used to hate Math back in the 5th grade because I never got along with Mr. Anderson. Then I got a lot better later on when we got a different instructor. Sometimes, it’s not entirely the kid’s fault after all. You can learn more about student-teacher relationships by reading this interesting article from the APA. Zoning Out During Tests Here’s another common problem a lot of smart kids have: they just don’t do well in tests. Some kids are brilliant when participating in class discussions or doing group projects but they’re not too keen on assignments that require sitting down and writing, like essays and papers and tests. These kids need more unconventional methods to learn. Parents and teachers can even use social media to inspire students like these: What’s more, encouraging these kids to do concentration exercises will help as well! Recommended For You:  Parental Control App – Cell Phone Parental Control Software Being Bullied at School It doesn’t matter how smart your child is, if the environment at school is unhealthy, they wouldn’t want to go at all. And that’s what affects their grades. They might be too traumatized by bullies at school to focus on the learning bit. The constant anxiety of being mocked, harassed or in some cases, physically hurt, makes good grades the least of their concerns. In this case, parents need to contact the school right away. Nearly every school now has an anti-bullying program. Make sure you and your kid get involved. Other than that, keep a close on them through a parental mobile spy app. This way, you can asses their situation firsthand when they can’t express it themselves. The Subject’s Simply too Tough If you’re sure your kid’s relationship with the teacher is fine, they’re having no trouble in school, and they’re pretty good at writing, too, chances are the subject is simply too tough for them. Look at it this way—some kids are good at Math. Some are great at Art. Sometimes, kids that are great at art won’t necessarily be great at art and vice versa. In this case, they’ve just got to work a little harder to get a good grade. Get involved with your kid’s activities and help them design a schedule that gives the right amount of study time to each subject. So many next time, a little more time practicing Math, and a little less time practicing Art? Whichever works for your child. This infographic by DeVry University should help: Remember, Communication is Key Don’t set report card goals for your children that seem too extraordinary. Look at their strengths and weaknesses and manage your own expectations according to it. At the same time, help them out in working on their weaknesses and encourage their strengths. Most importantly, talk to them often to see where their head it at. Are they getting bad grades because of one of these 4 reasons? You’ll never know if you don’t communicate!
